Easter happenings!

We had Easter fun for 3 days straight! Friday we went to Golfland because we heard on the radio that they were having a FREE Easter egg hunt for the kids. I guess everyone and their dog heard the word "FREE" and went. We stood in a line that was wrapped around the whole parking lot. It actually went pretty fast and we finally got in. The kids had a good time, but were bummed none of their eggs held the golden ticket. (Free Sunsplash season passes) Okay I was the one bummed, I have four kids to buy passes for. After the lame time at Golfland we headed to Amazing Jake's for lunch and lots of fun! We rarely go to that place, you have to take out a loan just to pay to get in and then you have to beg the kids to eat cause they are in a hurry to play all the games and ride the rides.

Saturday we had Easter with my side of the family (Welker's) at my moms house. It's always a good, fun, loud party with 10 adults and 15 kids (oldest is 8) !! The kids hunted for eggs filled with lots of candy and money thanks to Uncle Eric!! London was the biggest winner her lucky egg contained 10 bucks! Then my mom played a game with the kids called "I Spy". The kids had to tape their mouths shut and find lots of dollar store toys hidden around the room without saying anything... it was a hit with the kids! (And the parents, we had silence for about 2 minutes!)
Sunday we got together with Clayton's family at his sisters house. We had lots of Yummy food and the kids just entertained themselves all night in the backyard. I love those rare moments! I'm lame and didn't take any pictures.
Ready for church!

Makayla was to grouchy to let us take her picture by herself!

Funny McKenzie

McKenzie got hold of my camera while I was napping... I mean cleaning. (I don't sleep while my children are unsupervised..never!) This picture she took of herself makes me laugh every time I see it.

Another one of her that makes me laugh... She had hot curlers in her hair and was watching her dad work on the computer and this is how she fell asleep.

Baseball

Cody is LOVING baseball! He is on a really good team, lots of good little hitters. Clayton is the coach and is really enjoying it. I wasn't able to make one of the games because Makayla was sick and Clayton came home smiling ear to ear. He told me that while Cody was playing short stop someone hit a ball over his head and Cody jumped as high as he could and caught it!! Clayton kept saying, "it was the coolest thing ever!"

Clayton is also on a softball team, he plays on a city league with my brother Jeff and a bunch of guys from his work. His games are on Thursday nights and are usually pretty late, but with the kids having no school of Good Friday we were able to go watch him play. I was pretty impressed how good he still is in his old age.

How you get a birthmark according to Cody

Cody and McKenzie were taking a bath and this is the conversation I overheard...

M: Cody what is that on your back?
C: Its a mark you get on your birthday.
M: Why don't I have any?
C: I don't know - maybe you'll be lucky and get one on your next birthday.
M: I hope so!

I thought it was so funny, it was funny because Cody was so serious -- he really thought he got it on his 6th birthday!

FuN WeeKEnd!

Clayton and Cody were able to go to one of the Diamondbacks spring training games. They went down to the stadium about an hour before the game started and they were able to get the last tickets of a sold out game. Their seats were awesome! They sat a couple rows back from the dugout. They even sat next to one of the Diamondbacks owners!! The owner was teasing Cody that he is going to be a future Diamondback player - we can only hope!! Cody LOVED it - baseball is his FAVORITE sport of all times. He was able to get autographs from a few players on his ball and glove. He was so excited he made Clayton take him to the hair salon where I was getting my hair done and show me, he was smiling ear to ear.

This is how close their seats were - without using the zoom on the camera!

We went to support Eric in his mini sprint race. All the kids (12 kids) put their names in for co-pilot and none of their drivers ended with a win. Bummer! McKenzie's driver came in 2nd. Lets just say Uncle Eric needs to keep his day job and NEVER think about racing for a living! He was black flagged (caused to many accidents) and was suppose to get out of the race, but he didn't. He went on to cause another accident with the guy that was in first place - let's just say the audience was up in roars! The flagger guy was so mad at him for not getting off the track when he was suppose too. We were embarrassed for him / we just had to laugh. The officials took a time out and came to the decision to let the 1st place guy he caused an accident with go back to his position of being in front. Good try Eric, good thing your doing it just for fun - we love you!

The kids talking to their favorite driver!

Cody's reaction after Uncle Eric causing so many accidents.

The COOL car!

It was loud!

When Matix grows up he wants to be just like Uncle Eric.

GRAND Canyon

We had so much fun on our Spring Break vacation! We took our camp trailer to Williams and stayed at the Grand Canyon Railway RV park. It was one of the nicest RV parks we have stayed at, thus far. They had an indoor pool/jacuzzi and a huge park for the kids. We rode the train to the Grand Canyon and lets just say the kids were in HEAVEN. They enjoyed the train ride so much. We (me and the kids) have never been to the Grand Canyon before and it was Amazing / breath taking -- pictures just don't do it justice. I wish we had more time to spend there we had 3 hours and we could of used at least a couple more. I do have to say I was a nervous wreck with the kids looking over the edges, thankfully no one got hurt. This is one trip we will definitely have to do again.

Before you board the train they had a Cowboy show - so funny!

All Aboard!

Clayton and this guy knew a lot of the same people from the White Mountains. (small world)

This was one of the cowboys that came on the train with us.

Look at that view!

Lots of CRAZY people rode mules down the canyon - I would NEVER!!

Makayla was tuckered out by the end of the day!

Sorry for the picture over load.

What's happening to my babies?

My babies aren't babies anymore. Today McKenzie just hopped on a neighbor kids bike (without training wheels) and took off! She had no help what-so-ever. I was sitting in the front yard talking to 3 other moms on the street and they were in shock that they just witnessed that without ANY help. That's my McKenzie when she wants to do something she goes ALL out. Way to go sis!

Yippee Skippy!

I have been meaning to post this for a couple weeks, but never got around to it. MAKAYLA IS OFFICIALLY POTTY TRAINED!! (for 2 1/2 weeks now) Can I just say how nice it is? It's SO nice to not have any kids in diapers!! (night time doesn't count - that takes a while) I am so proud of how fast she learned!! A HUGE thanks goes to Grandma Welker. Grandma would not let Makayla wear diapers at her house, the minute she walked in the door grandma would make her put panties on. It worked! -- she realized how easy it is. Way to go Makayla - your such a big girl!

Now if Grandma could just train her to keep her clothes on. Makayla is my only child that loves to run around just in her underwear. The minute we get home from anywhere, her clothes are off! It is a struggle to make her put some on when we leave the house. She's so funny.
