Wow, three new posts!!

Callie as "Goldie"

The third grade had a book report project where they had to pick a book, read it, do a report about it, dress up as the main character, and decorate a pumpkin as the main character. Callie chose the book "Goldie".

Callie really stresses about projects like this...so I asked her teacher at parent/teacher conference how fancy her costume needs to be. I was told to print some dog ears off the computer and pin a tail on. Well when Callie told my mom about the project and told her what I was going to do for the costume, grandma thought that was not ok. So this is what she did....

A little extreme for a book report project, but Callie LOVED it!! I must say for buying the fabric and dropping it off the day before the project was due, grandma is AMAZING!! What would I do without her? Poor Callie would of had to go to school wearing paper ears. :)

I was dying to know if Callie was the only one decked out for the project, so I snuck in and spied. I have to admit I would have felt bad if I sent her to school with paper ears, cause there were some pretty creative costumes.

Thank you Grandma! We can't tell you enough how much we appreciate all you do for us!

Kid of Character!

I got a message from Cody's teacher to call her on her cell phone, my first thought was "dang kid, what did you do?" I just met with his teacher a few days before for parent/teacher conference and she told me how Cody is such a good kid and a good example to those in his class. I was hoping she wasn't changing her mind about all that. I was happy/relieved when she told me that Cody was going to be recognized at an assembly for "Kid of Character!" She said to keep it a surprise for Cody and invited me to come watch him get recognized. I have to say when he saw me walk in, I think he thought he was in trouble by the look on his face. (he was a trouble maker in Kindergarten, so I am always telling him that he better be good cause I will come and spy on him) I am so proud of the choices Cody is making this year!! He has chosen better friends and everything about him is different this year. I couldn't be any prouder. Keep it up Cody!

Callie the pitcher!

Callie is really enjoying softball and she improves with every practice and game. I really hope that softball ends up being the sport she decides to stick with, I love everything about the sport!! She has been having fun learning to pitch. This video is of her first game and only learning to pitch a ball two days prior. I must say for a beginner she is doing pretty good. I love to watch her play and make new friends.

Life is CrAzY....

Our life is a little chaotic right now....I have a few things I need to post about to catch up, but I'm tired right now. With me, Callie and Cody all playing baseball and softball we are always at the ball fields. Callie had her first game on Saturday and she was able to pitch one inning and she did AWESOME!!! I will post a video later.

We had a fun Fall Break!! We were lucky to have dad home too!!

Miss Makayla

Makayla is such a crack up lately...yesterday at Cody's baseball practice she walking up and down the sidewalk. (I should say strutting) Callie and I were sitting in our lawn chairs watching Cody and as Makayla passed us she would stop, put one hand on her hip, and the other hand next to her chin while waving it and say, "Hi, boys." (in a very grown up voice) I looked at Callie and asked her "did you just hear that?" and we both started cracking up!! Makayla then proceeds to strut her stuff and stop and look in the direction of the boys playing ball and say, "hi boys!" .......I'm in trouble!

Should not have opened my mouth!!

I have friends and family that their kids are addicted to chocolate milk. I have always thought, "Just don't give it to them"...well I have a child that has become addicted and "just don't give it to them" is easier said than done! The addiction started when I decided to buy some Nestle Quick in bulk from Costco for an after school treat. The treat quickly became an ADDICTION!! Makayla thinks when she sits down to watch TV she automatically is going to get a sippy of chocolate milk, and it easier to just give her the darn stuff instead of hearing it for an hour. Maybe next time I will learn to keep my thoughts to myself.

GRAND SLAM!!!

Cody has played a couple REAL games now and is doing AWESOME!! (He loves that he gets to play on a REAL dirt field this year.) I must say he is a natural when it comes to baseball. Last night he was fourth up to bat with the bases loaded, and guess what he did!?! He hit a grand slam!! HOME RUN!!! And of coarse, mom was in the bathroom helping a little one, so I missed it. Dadgumit!!! I walked out of the bathroom to Cody yelling "MOM, MOM!!! Come here!!!" And he proceeded to tell me all about it with the biggest smile I have ever seen on his face!! His next time up to bat he made it to third!! I love watching this kid play! Hopefully he can make us some money when he gets older. :)

Let the CHAOS begin!!

Our lives our going to be a little chaotic for the next few months. Cody is playing coach pitch baseball, Callie is playing softball, and mom is training for a 1/2 marathon and playing on a co-ed softball team. All of our games and practices are on different nights. Since school has started I have been really strict on the kids being in bed by 7:30 and eating a home cooked meal, but I think this is out the window for next little while. I LOVE to watch my kids play sports that they enjoy playing. Cody is ALL SMILES from beginning to end of practice, he LOVES the sport!! Callie is so excited for her practices to begin, Cody's coach was nice and let Callie play along at practice and it made her even more excited for softball to begin. My first softball game was last night and I must say for not playing for over 8 years, I didn't do bad!! I hit the ball every time up to bad and never got out, that's not bad for an old lady!!

"It's a crazy life, but it's OUR life!"

I'm LOVING it!

Makayla has finally decided she is big enough to wear panties to bed! She kept telling me "I'm not big like Kenzie" when I would ask if she wanted to try wearing panties instead of a pull ups to bed. She is officially "big like Kenzie" now!! It is SO nice to not have to buy diapers or pull ups anymore!! Thanks Makayla!

Showing she's "big like Kenzie."

Makayla's way of posing!

Could she get any cuter?
